Welcome!

Hi all,     I am moving this music website. Just a heads up that after Nov 26th you will find me, my writing and my music, at EloquentRascals.com, a site my husband Mark and I are setting up for our books and my music... all be under one website roof!

For the next few weeks, you can still access my early albums, which are now digital and available on the Early Albums page; it is the music I recorded in the seventies in the UK, plus some singles recorded from 75 to 85. Please note there are some sound artifacts on some of these tracks, which occurred during transfer from vinyl to digital, and very hard to remove... So have a listen and see if you can live with that before you download!

The album on this page, Good Things Don't Come Easy, is the most recent, and consists of songs I wrote (and a couple I did not. :-)

I hope you enjoy it!   And thanks for visiting!

Diane

Diane Solomon Biography

Diane grew up in Oregon, and says she can't remember a time when she wasn't singing. Her father gave her a guitar for Christmas when she was 13, and she taught herself folk and country styles, and started to write songs. At 19, believing her first talent was acting, she headed off to England, determined to study acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. But life can take some funny turns. Before she could arrange an interview, she was literally "discovered", playing her guitar and singing to a small, private, New Year's Eve party at a London hotel. A BBC television producer was there, a screen test followed, and the result was a network primetime series of variety specials! "The Diane Solomon Show" of the late seventies, was a great success, and she quickly became a regular on British TV, with other specials of her own, and numerous guest appearances, including several Royal Gala Specials. She recorded 5 albums, appeared on countless radio shows, TV hosting, and musical theater productions. She headed four major UK Theater concert tours of her own, toured with Glen Campbell on three European tours, and opened for a major Kenny Rogers' tour in 1991.

But then life took another turn, this time not so fortunate. She was diagnosed with the infamous M.E., or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and for the next three years was too ill to walk across the room unaided. In the darkest hours songwriting was her saving grace, and the title cut of her new CD, "Good Things Don't Come Easy" was born of this troubled time. With the help a brilliant German homeopathic system of healing, plus nutrition and herbs, she regained her health. Diane was so impressed with these alternate therapies that she has since gained degrees in both nutrition and homeopathy, achieving a doctorate degree from the British Institute of Homeopathy. She has also written a practitioners' guide to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, hoping to be able to help others afflicted with this dreadful disease.

Diane lives in beautiful Fairfield County, Connecticut, where she writes and records in the 24-track studio in her home. She writes soft country, folk, and classcial ballads, playing both guitar and piano. As a nutritionist and homeopath, she sees clients who suffer everything from allergies to CFS, from menopausal problems to high cholesterol. She has written several non-fiction books, two screenplays, and is hard at work on her first novel. Sometimes called a "Renaissance Woman", she writes, edits, researches, and performs, always seeking more knowledge, more understanding, and more creative flow.

I saw you on tour at Leeds town hall many years ago. You were fantastic just like you shows on the BBC. I remember it so well you held everybody in the palm of your hand I really wish you would do a tour for ardent Diane Solomon fans. I would just like to thank you for a memory I have had for all these years. My very best wishes to you and your family.

Its great to see your website and hear your songs. My mum and I came to one of your concerts in the late 70's and I still cherish the memory of a wonderful evening. I have loved singing all my life and now work as a professional singer, writer, presenter and voice coach. Thank you for the inspiration - and for your great new album!

Hello, Diane I'm from São Paulo, Brazil and I confess that I did not know. I'm a diehard fan of Glen Campbell and it was through a duet you did with it (singing the song IF YOU WERE MY LADY) I met her. His voice is beautiful. I wonder what you currently do and if you still in touch with Glen Campbell.

So lovely to hear your voice again and what beautiful songs you have put together. I have often wondered what happened to you and where you were. I thought I read at one time you were living in England, Essex I think. I loved your TV shows and was lucky enough to see you in Bedford where I was taken to see you for my birthday. You actually came down and sat on my knee and sang to me, that was a lovely memory. I also bought your LP disc which you signed for me and which I still have. Good to hear that you are ok after your illness. Well done for for getting through that. God bless you and long may you sing and write those beautiful songs.
